The earthquake death toll in Turkey and Syria has already exceeded 200.
On Monday morning, February 6, a powerful earthquake struck on the border of Turkey and Syria, killing at least 200 people. The death toll is rising steadily.
CNN reports that the 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Turkish province of Gaziantep; it started 24.1 kilometers below the surface. This is one of the strongest earthquakes in the region over the last hundred years.
Several countries in the region, including Syria and Lebanon, felt the earthquake.
"It's an apocalypse, buildings were falling in seconds," eyewitnesses reported.
