Putin Gets Mocked At In Washington

The White House reacted sarcastically to the start of the “election campaign” in the Russian Federation.

White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby reacted sarcastically to Kremlin head Vladimir Putin's announcement of his candidacy for the Russian presidential elections, which will be held in March 2024.

This was discussed at the White House briefing.

Journalists asked Kirby how he could comment on Putin’s “re-election,” to which he jokingly compared the upcoming elections in the Russian Federation to horse racing.

“Well, that’s going to be one humdinger of a horse race, isn’t it? That’s all I’ve got to say on that,” answered the representative of the US Presidential Administration.

On December 8, Putin announced his participation in the Russian presidential elections in 2024.

This will already be the fifth term for which the Kremlin dictator will run.

It is reported that Russian militant Artem Zhoga “asked” Putin to become a presidential candidate.

In addition, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation approved the dates for the elections, which for the first time will last three whole days — from March 15 to 17, 2024.

Putin has held the presidency longer than any other Russian ruler since dictator Joseph Stalin, surpassing even Leonid Brezhnev's 18-year term: from 2000 to 2008, and then from 2012 to now.
