Yuozas Olekas: I Demand Immediate Information About Mikalai Statkevich's Whereabouts And Well-Being.

The absence of information from the leader of the Belarusian opposition for more than 300 days is unacceptable.

Head of the European Parliament delegation for Belarus, MEP, former head of the Ministry of Defense and Ministry of Health of Lithuania Juozas Olekas demanded that the Lukashenka regime immediately provide information about the whereabouts and well-being of the leader of the Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich.

“I demand from the BY authorities immediate information about Mikalai Statkevich's whereabouts & his well-being.

It's unacceptable that we have no information about Statkevich for more than 300 days. No letters or calls from him,no contacts with his lawyer & meetings with his wife,”

Juozas Oleksandr posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Earlier, Editor-in-Chief of the website Charter97.org Natallia Radzina demanded that the Belarusian authorities refute information received from several sources about the possible death in prison of the leader of the Belarusian opposition Mikalai Statkevich.

“Show Mikalai Statkevich, if he is alive, to his closest and dearest person — Maryna Adamovich. Allow them a meeting or at least a video call!

Otherwise, your silence will mean that the sources are right, and the death of another political prisoner is on the conscience of Lukashenka and his punishers,” said Natallia Radzina.
