Russian Services Arrested Belarusian Citizen On Suspicion Of BAM Bombing

The FSB revealed the details.

Russian FSB arrested a Belarusian citizen on suspicion of blowing up railway cars, the FSB Press Service reports.

A freight train car caught fire on the Itykit-Okushikan stretch, while moving through the Severomuysky Tunnel of the BAM [Baikal-Amur Mainline - Ed.] on November 29 and 30. The FSB classified the incident as a terrorist attack. The Russian services arrested a Belarusian citizen on suspicion of committing this crime. He allegedly acted “in the interests of the Ukrainian special services”.

According to the FSB, the man “received instructions from another citizen of Belarus living in Lithuania.”

A person detained in the case of blowing up the train said that he installed magnetic mines. Later the mines exploded. He took the explosive devices from the cache, brought them to Buryatia and planted them on the tanks of freight train cars.
