Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk Receives Over 100 Monetary Transfers In Three Months

Now the political prisoner is awaiting an appeal in the Homel pre-trial detention center.

For the last month and a half, any correspondence with the relatives has been prohibited for political prisoner and activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk. There have been no letters either from her or to her. Therefore, the relatives were very worried about where she was and what was wrong with her, Palina’s husband Andrei Sharenda told Radio Racyja:

— All this time, Palina wrote letters to us, and to her friends and acquaintances. But the censoring officer simply did not let them through. We also wrote to her, but none of our letters went through. Even those letters containing photographs of children did not break through. We wanted to now take advantage of the opportunity of Palina’s loosened confinement conditions, and send at least a minimum number of photographs. After all, she hasn’t seen our children for almost three years.

During a meeting with her mother after a month and a half of uncertainty, political prisoner Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk conveyed gratitude to everyone who supported her during her three months in the Homel pre-trial detention center. This gave the physically exhausted Palina strength.

— In 3 months, Palina received more than 100 money transfers. She also received more than 50 parcels from different cities. This is colossal support, which is seen not only by her prison mates, ordinary prisoners, but also by the administration of the pre-trial detention center, which is forced to treat Palina differently. They understand that there is a lot of attention to her.

According to Andrei Sharenda, Palina also conveyed that everyone who is free needs to continue to fight. Otherwise, the suffering of political prisoners will be in vain.

Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk has been in captivity since January 3, 2021.

The appeal hearing will take place on December 15. At the moment, Palina is in pre-trial detention until her trial, you can support her with money transfers and parcels.
