Crimean Breakthrough: Ukrainian Armed Forces Preparing Blitz Strike Against Occupiers

No “Surovikin line” will help.

In the Crimea, on certain sections of the coast, the occupiers are installing “dragon teeth” and transferring air defense to Simferopol. According to Ukrainian partisans, the Russian military received instructions to increase the defense capability of the occupying forces on the peninsula. And after successful strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the partisans recorded the appearance of concrete anti-tank “teeth” near Feodosia. Before this, the enemy was actively strengthening the coastal zone in Yevpatoria. Military expert, ex-speaker of the General Staff Vladyslav Seleznev spoke onАпостроф TV about the purpose the enemy is strengthening the Crimean coast for, and whether de-occupation of the peninsula is possible with small forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

“Dragon's Teeth”

The enemy fears a large-scale Ukrainian landing from the sea. It is for this purpose that they create a powerful and extensive network of defensive structures on the coast. To some extent, this looks strange, because Ukraine does not have the technical capabilities to conduct such an amphibious operation.

For example, in February last year, when the enemy planned to carry out an amphibious operation in the Odesa region, they planned to use 13 large landing ships, some of which were even transferred from the Baltic Fleet to strengthen their attack capabilities. Of these, we sank or disabled five, leaving eight left. All surviving large landing ships have been relocated away from the coast of Ukraine — some are located in the Sea of Azov, and the other is near Novorossiysk.

The enemy is also actively preparing fortifications in the Black Sea and Saki areas — an extensive line of fortifications along the coast. The fact that the invaders are creating coastal fortifications is even good. This is a waste of material, time and human resources. All this drains the resources of the occupation administration. Although, first of all, you need to pay attention to those fortifications that are located in front of the Crimean isthmus, as well as in the north of the Crimea. Engineering and sapper units of the enemy army work there, creating additional lines and positions. As soon as the Ukrainian army breaks through the so-called “Surovikin Line”, then we will again be greeted by new minefields, anti-tank barriers and fortifications, which the enemy is now hastily building.

In general, the enemy does this for a reason. They see that the Ukrainian army is preparing the field for the upcoming battle: attacks on the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, the defeat of enemy ships in Sevastopol, the destruction of air defense systems in the Crimea and “bavovna” in different points of the peninsula — all these are components of this process. And the Crimea should not be considered a near front-line region, because in fact it is already the very front line between the Ukrainian defense forces and the Russian occupation army.

Crimean breakthrough

The use of F-16 combat platforms will significantly enhance our combat capabilities in the operations of ground forces, as well as over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. The F-16s themselves are powerful air platforms, but even more powerful are the missile weapons of these fighters — the same harpoon missiles. Currently, their use gives the Ukrainian Armed Forces control over the northwestern part of the Black Sea. We can imagine how their effectiveness will increase if they are launched from multipurpose American fighters. Then in the Black Sea there will be no safe places for enemy ships.

Regarding the de-occupation of Crimea, a comprehensive approach must be taken. American general and former commander of US troops in Europe Ben Hodges has spoken about this more than once. He is confident that the Crimean peninsula can be liberated with little effort and at a fairly fast pace. But this requires several components. First, the F-16 fighters. Secondly, long-range ATACMS missiles capable of destroying enemy targets within a radius of up to 300 km. Thirdly, it is important to destroy the Crimean Bridge, disrupt logistics for the enemy group on the peninsula. And then systematically destroy priority enemy targets and objects on the territory of the Crimea. This tactic is already being implemented by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, knocking out enemy depots and air defense systems. And every S-400 air defense system turned to ashes is our small step towards our liberation of the Crimea.
