Expert: Lukashenka's Statements May Be Prerequisites To Involve Belarusian Army In The War

Many in Russia have been arguing for a long time that it is necessary to cut the supply chains of Western weapons to Ukraine.

Lukashenka's statements that Poland wants to seize Western Ukraine (and Western Belarus, of course) can be ignored as his usual gossip, but several important aspects need to be fixed, political analyst Vitali Tsyhankou writes on his Telegram channel.

Firstly, this is a clear desire to bring discord between Poland and Ukraine. Actually, Poland demonstrates the greatest solidarity and the greatest assistance to Ukraine. These countries and peoples now have perhaps the best relations in their bilateral history having cast aside all their historical claims.

Secondly, the traditional Lukashenka's polephobia. It cannot be hidden, it breaks through both in words and in actions, even when there are no immediate political reasons for this. And then there was an opportunity to inflame the traditional polephobia of Putin and the Russian political elite. "Pound your gums" telling disgusting things about Poland, the big brother will appreciate it.

Thirdly, Lukashenka needs the image of "terrible and aggressive" Poland to prove to Putin that the Belarusian army is stubbornly guarding the western borders of the "union state" in the face of a terrible enemy who dreams of capturing Western Ukraine and Belarus.

Well, the last - I wanted it to be only a version. Statements of Poland's intention to seize Western Ukraine can serve as a pretext and basis for the entry of the Belarusian army into the war in Ukraine. Like, we are going to free the Ukrainians from a possible attack by the Poles. Lukashenka has already explained in this way why the attack on Ukraine was carried out from Belarusian territory ("I'll show you...").

Many in Russia have been arguing for a long time that it is necessary to cut the supply chains of Western weapons to Ukraine. And strategically, this can be realised by opening a second front - an attack from Belarus in the direction of Lviv. Let's hope that this will not happen, and it is actually unlikely. But the fact is that they have already prepared the ideological ground for this - "to protect the Ukrainians from the Poles."
