Political Prisoner Sentenced To 1,5 Years In Jail For Writing ‘3%’ On Store Wall In Dokshytsy

On November 28, 19-year-old <>bAliaksandr Sinitsa was convicted in the court of Dokshytsy district under Article 341 of the Criminal Code (“Desecration of facilities and damage to property”). Judge Viachaslau Yeliseyenka sentenced the political prisoner to one and a half years of prison in a general regime penal colony, human rights activists report.
The court started considering the case on November 25. According to the local district newspaper, at the end of August, Aliaksandr painted the protest graffiti “3%” with red wax chalk on the wall of the “Udobny” store. The court considered it “intentional damage to a piece of wall”.
The district newspaper does not name the convicted person. It was reported by the local historian Kastus Shytal. It is also known that Aliaksandr Sinitsa has recently actively criticized Dokshytsa trade facilities for selling overdue products, and poor sanitary conditions.
