Russian Government Exposed Lies of Belarusian Authorities on COVID-19 Vaccination

The Ministry of Health seriously overestimates the number of vaccinated Belarusians - by almost 40%.

Belarusian pharmaceutical companies have produced about 1.5 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine. This is reported by TASS with reference to the materials of the press service of the Russian government, prepared for the visit of the Prime Minister of this country Mikhail Mishustin to Minsk.

This information could have gone unnoticed if a couple of days ago we had not released a large material about the number of vaccine doses in our country and the pace of the vaccination campaign.

Based on the statements of Belarusian officials, by September, at least 2.26 million doses of vaccines were to be dispensed at Belmedpreparaty. If we rely on the figures announced by the Russian government, the Ministry of Health seriously overestimates the number of vaccinated Belarusians - by almost 40%.

Based on data from open sources, by the end of the summer, there were at least 2.87 million doses of two-component vaccines in Belarus (to fully vaccinate a person, two such injections are needed). Based on the statements of Lukashenka and the Minister of Healthcare Dzmitry Pinevich, we calculated that of these 2.87 million, at least 2.26 million doses of Sputnik V were produced in Belarus by the end of the summer. The rest is supplies from other countries (China, UAE, and Russia). Remember these numbers, writes zerkalo.io.

On August 29, the Ministry of Health announced that 1,330,000 Belarusians were vaccinated with two doses, another 290,000 with one. To vaccinate such a number of people, even more vaccines were needed than according to the minimum bar that was produced - 2.95 million doses. We can assume that Belarus produced a little more by the end of the summer because Lukashenka stated that Belmedpreparaty supplies at least 90 thousand doses of Sputnik V weekly.

However, the figures announced by TASS with reference to the Russian government are changing everything - it claims that "about 1.5 million doses" were produced at Belmedpreparaty. The announcement was made on 9 September. Even if we assume that this amount does not take into account autumn production, it turns out that, by the end of the summer, there were only about 2.11 million doses of the vaccine in Belarus. This would be enough to inoculate a maximum of 1.055 million people with the two components. No one would have received a single dose with this approach. If we adhere to the same approach regarding the figures announced by the Belarusian Ministry of Health on August 29, it turns out that then 1.475 million people could receive two injections. It turns out that, if you believe the figures announced in Russia, on August 29, the Ministry of Health of Belarus overestimated the number of vaccinated people by at least 420 thousand people. Or by 39.81%.

What percentage of the population has been vaccinated in neighboring countries

According to experts, more than 70% of the population needs to be vaccinated to develop collective immunity. According to the Belarusian Ministry of Health, as of September 9, about 18.4% of people received one dose of vaccine, and 15.4% - two doses. We have looked at how the vaccination campaign is going in neighboring countries.
