I Was Offered Money to Cancel the Strike

The leader of the Belarusian Workers' Association appealed to the Belarusians.

The leader of the Belarusian Workers' Association Siarhei Dyleuski addressed the Belarusians:

- Dear free Belarusians! On October 25, we, the Belarusian Workers' Association, announced the start of a nationwide strike from November 1, 2021. Many thanks to those activists, structures, and politicians who supported the strike. There are already hundreds of thousands of us, and there will be millions of us.

We have also faced incredible pressure in recent days to back down on our decision. The day after the strike date was announced, former (?) police officers came to me and began actively persuading me to call off the strike. They even offered me money to give up our decision. But we do not give up and will not retreat from our position. There will be a strike on November 1!

The strike is needed right now:

- Most of the employees of the enterprises are already on sick leave. About 300 people die in the country every day.

- At the enterprises, there is an acute shortage of workers.

- Dismissals of activists at the Dobrush factory - this is the very "optimization" of processes when the most active are fired. If we do not show our strength now, most of the assets will be fired and arrested.

“After all, there are thousands and thousands of people on the “black lists” of the authorities. There will be no one to go on strike with.

- If we postpone the strike for at least a month, we will lose about 9000 lives.

Time to act! We are on the right track. We have no right to delay and postpone the start date of the strike indefinitely! Every day of delay is worth hundreds of human lives.

I call on all activists of the democratic forces and the labor movement, workers in all spheres of life to support the start of the strike from November 1, 2021. Human lives and the future of our country depend on you. We must help the doctors by announcing a national lockdown.
