Pickets For Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Held In Babruisk

On June 4, Babruisk residents lined up in two long queues in the Maladziozhny Park to leave their signatures for presidential candidate Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. The picket started at 2 p.m., and by the evening there were more people, Babruisk Courier writes.

Signatures for Tsikhanouskaya were being collected in two tents. It was possible to sign for Valer Tsepkala at the counter near the tents.

The people were saying that they were ready to put their signatures for anyone, except for Lukashenka.

"You know, it has already reached the state of Ukraine - we are for anyone, but not for the notorious fellow," - a man standing almost in the tail of the queue noted. He was ready to stand for several hours to sign for Tsikhanouskaya.

The Palace of Arts "provided" musical accompaniment for the pickets. In the gazebo nearby they put up columns and were playing songs about Belarus and Babruisk. During breaks between compositions the artistic director of the Palace of Arts presented various clubs and creative teams of the town. This had nothing to do with the ongoing collection of signatures, the woman is convinced. They just needed to enroll children for the new school year, and there is no other way to do it except for the public presentation, because of the quarantine. But no one approached the gazebo.

On June 5, a picket will be held from 12:00 to 20:00 at the same place.
