WHO Beats Alarm Over Coronavirus Situation In Belarus

The head of the European Bureau has made a speech.

Belarus is one of the five countries in Europe with the highest total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 14 days. This was reported by the head of the WHO European Office, Hans Kluge.

According to Kluge, Belarus, Russia, the UK, Turkey and Italy have become the countries with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks.

He also says that more than 2 million cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in 53 European countries, where 900 million people live. More than 175 thousand people have died.

94% of all deceased patients are above 60 years of age, 59% are men. 97% of all deaths were among those who had at least one major disease, with cardiovascular disease being the main concomitant pathology.

Kluge also reported that Europe accounted for 38% of all infections and about 50% of fatalities worldwide.

We remind that according to independent experts, about a million people might have been infected with coronavirus in Belarus, while about 10 thousand might have died. Figures published by the Ministry of Health are significantly underestimated, and Belarusian doctors do not trust them.
