Belarus Will Purchase Russian Oil at World Prices, Krutoi Says

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Belarusian government commented on the talks between Putin and Lukashenka.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Belarusian government Dzmitry Krutoi commented on the results of the "high-level" talks in Sochi on February 7. Belarusian refineries will buy oil from Russian companies at world market prices, BelTA informs.

"Regarding the oil and market agreements, the Russian side agreed to supply oil by agreement with the Russian oil companies at prices set in the world market. By the way, the same was repeatedly demanded by Lukashenka, the Belarusian side. Belarus does not need any exclusive conditions. We want to buy oil at world prices," said Dzmitry Krutoi.

According to him, Russian President Putin agreed with this approach. "Moreover, he promised the Russian government would render all possible assistance in our work with Russian oil-extracting companies. So that the oil deliveries to the Belarusian refineries would be under the conditions specified above," said First Deputy Prime Minister.

He also stated the January debates showed that Russian oil producers considered the Belarusian market to be an export one. It served as a certain barrier.
