The monument was opened in the village of Pahostsishcha, where the last battle of the Vorsha detachment of Kalinouski Rebels was held.

It took a local teacher and her students a long time to create the monument. As a result of long work, the first monument was opened in 2006. In a couple of years already, the monument was visited annually by Orsha residents. The tradition was established to come to Pahostsishcha on August 28 - the day when the commander of the detachment Ihnat Budzilovich was executed in the Vorsha prison, orsha.eu reports.

But in a few years, the granite cross on the monument and the masonry started to decay because of the weather. In 2018, the Vorsha city organization of the Belarusian Language Society announced the reconstruction of the monument. But over the course of the year, the idea evolved into a new one - to erect a new monument.

A week before August 28, 2019, a boulder was found in Liozna district of Vitsebsk region, a cross was carved and a corresponding plaque was made. However, it was also decided not to destroy the old monument.

This time, about 50 people from Vorsha, Liozna, Vitsebsk, Mahiliou, and Shklou gathered in the Pahostsishcha.
