Viktar Marchyk: We Show That There' Alternative To Lies And Madness

Pickets under the flags with Pahonia and European symbols are held in many towns and villages of Belarus.

Candidate for Slonim electoral district № 58 Viktar Marchyk told the European Belarus press service about the first days of collecting signatures:

- Today we have held pickets in the agro-towns of Halynka and Dziarechyn, Zelva district. A lot of people were coming up. Some people paid attention to flags with Pahonia and European symbols, others learned from neighbors. A lot of people were asking why we were standing there - people understand that there are no elections in the country, that deputies are appointed at the top. And we show that there is an alternative to lies and madness. And everyone understands this. Moreover, many people know that we are engaged in humanitarian activities, helping people.

There have been various cases today. A mini-bus passes by, a man looks out, a couple of questions - and he immediately runs to get his passport to sign for us. Older people were complaining a lot about medical care: doctors are paid kopecks, nobody stays in the villages. There are a lot of environmental issues - the nuclear power station, the rivers are polluted, the authorities do not care about the environment.

Pickets to collect signatures for Viktar Marchyk will be held in the next few days in the next localities of Slonim district:

September 11 - Agrotown Senkaushchyna, from 10.00 to 14.00

September 12 - Agrotown Miazhevichy, from 10.00 to 14.00.
