In his homeland, Bakiyev is sentenced to 30 years in prison.

On August 6, Lukashenka held a meeting with fugitive dictator of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev at the Palace of Independence on the occasion of the guest’s 70th anniversary, the press-center of Lukashenka reports.

Lukashenka warmly congratulated Kurmanbek Bakiyev, presented symbolic gifts - the painting “Nomads Hunting with a Golden Eagle” - a collective image that combines both national characteristics and the ethnic flavor of the Kyrgyz people. According to the press-center, the steppe eagle, or golden eagle, holds a special symbolic meaning in the worldview of the nomads. He also gave Bakiнev a dirk and a bouquet of Belarusian flowers.

“This is my country ... Horses, golden eagles ...”, Kurmanbek Bakiyev reacted when he saw the painting.

“Your country and your element. This proud bird looks like you, ”said Lukashenka.

Kurmanbek Bakiyev thanked Lukashenka for the gifts.

“We will all come to your birthday party,” Aliaksandr Lukashenka continued his friendly dialogue. “Can you cook the Kyrgyz pilaf? You do the pilaf, and we bring the wine! ”

Kurmanbek Bakiyev replied that he would be happy to receive guests and personally prepare a treat. “I will cook it myself, from the beginning to the end,” he stressed.

According to tut.by, after escaping from Kyrgyzstan in 2014, Bakiyev settled in Belarus, where he received a Belarusian passport, built a house in Minsk, and was even awarded the Belarusian Order of Friendship of the Peoples. In the homeland, several criminal cases were brought against the runaway dictator of Kyrgyzstan, in which he was convicted in absentia three times and first sentenced to life imprisonment, then the Supreme Court commuted this sentence to 30 years in prison.

Belarusian journalists also found the house of the fugitive Kyrgyz dictator near Drazdy.
