Pyro-Ross: Our Company Wasn't Responsible For Fireworks Preparation

The company said that the Belarusian side had not asked them for help in the investigation.

Technical Director of Piro-Ross Konstantin Shapovalov said that the company's employees were not responsible for the preparation of shells for the launch of fireworks in Minsk on July 3, tut.by reports.

"We believe the investigators accuse our employees without due grounds, because the guys' task was not to prepare the shells for launch. Their task was to record the fireworks program on the programming consoles, set up the launch equipment and track the launch to provide some technical assistance. We have no contact with them. We don't have any information about what and how they did. We send someone from our company for each fireworks. These guys came to Minsk for the first time," - Shapovalov said.

He also notes that the Belarusian side has not asked the company for help in the investigation. According to Shapovalov, the company hired lawyers for its employees.

On July 17 it became known that two Russian employees of Piro-Ross - 25-year-old Maxim Sapronov and 28-year-old Konstantin Denisov had already been charged. The Investigative Committee also said that two more people are being investigated as suspects.

We remind that on July 3, an emergency situation occurred during the festive fireworks. A 64-year-old woman died and 10 other people were injured.

The IC considers four main versions: fireworks equipment malfunction, faults of fireworks, incorrect charging of fireworks equipment, improper operation of fireworks equipment. According to the head of the ministry, Ivan Naskevich, the most obvious version is the improper quality of pyrotechnic charges.

On July 5 employees of the pyrotechnic production company Piro-Ross were arrested. Both of them have higher education and have been working at the enterprise for several years. They arrived in Minsk as consultants. Now they are being held in a pre-trial detention center at Volodarsky street. On July 8 , Russian diplomats visited them.
