The meaning of the Charter was strengthened through its third incarnation – the Belarusian one.
The head of the famous Polish publishing house Karta (Charter) congratulated Charter97.org on its 20th anniversary.
– For me, the twentieth anniversary of the portal confirms the vitality of the idea encoded in the beautiful word Charter.
The meaning of the word Charter was strengthened through its third incarnation – the Belarusian one. The Czechoslovak, Polish, and then Belarusian Charter confirmed the value of ideas encoded in this word.
The Belarusian group took as an example the Czechoslovak Charter, presented by Vaclav Havel. We, the Poles, also used the word Charter at one time. Now, all together we make the Charter be a symbol of a certain action in the Eastern Europe's reality. This is democracy.
For me, Charter-97 is the embodiment of democratic Belarus. The proof that this country can be part of Europe.
It will be recalled that on September 3 editor-in-chief of Charter-97 Natallia Radzina announced the threat to informational resource cause by drastic reduction in financing and called readers for solidarity. Ways to support the website:
