Villager Stabbed Policeman In Stomach In Ivanava District

The villager has offered resistance to two district policemen.

When detaining a drunken villager, a policeman was stabbed in the stomach with a knife. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The message to the police arrived on Wednesday, January 23. A resident of the village of Mahro called the operational duty unit of the Ivanava district police department and reported that a drunken fellow villager had made a racket in his house.

“Two district police inspectors arrived at the scene. The offender wounded one of them in the stomach with a knife during the detention. The police officer was taken to the central district hospital, his life is not in danger,” – the Interior Ministry says.

The 57-year-old villager was arrested. Earlier, the man was brought to administrative responsibility for violation of public order, is not married, lives alone, does not work anywhere.

A criminal case under paragraph 5 of Part 2 of Art. 147 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm to a person when he is performing official activities) was initiated against the attacker. The man faces up to 10 years in prison.
