That happened before the New Year.

Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sharoyko, convicted on charges of espionage, was transferred from the KGB remand prison to the Babruisk colony No. 2. That happened before the New Year, Igor Kizim, Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, has told euroradio.fm.

According to him, Sharoyko’s wife has already visited him in the colony, and on January 23, the consul of Ukraine is going to see him.

Pavel Sharoyko, who worked in Belarus as a correspondent for the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine, was detained by the KGB in October 2017. He was accused of espionage and the creation of an agent network in Belarus. At a closed trial, the court sentenced the Ukrainian to a few years in prison. Later diplomats reported that he was sentenced to “more than eight years.”
