In the conditions of the crisis, the authorities are still afraid of a social explosion.
The anti-corruption fuss is not going anywhere. The media give tons of information about more and more arrests. At the same time, there has been no particular reaction in the masses of people. No compassion for the arrestees, no major emotions. The arrestees have become statistical figures.
The only obvious success of this campaign – Lukashenka’s critics now have anti-corruption slogans in their disposal.
Like, the anti-corruption struggle is in progress… Corrupted officials go to jail.
I think this is the main reason of why the show goes on. In the conditions of the crisis, the authorities are still afraid of a social explosion. And remain proactive.
