Belarusian Tourist Killed In Georgia

The Belarusian met with an accident.

Readers reported to the tut.by editorial office that a young Belarusian was killed in Batumi during her holidays. This information was confirmed in the Embassy of Belarus in Georgia: the car, in which the tourist was traveling, had an accident.

According to the Embassy of Belarus in Georgia, the girl came to the country by plane on June 19. She and two other Belarusians, one of whom is a relative of the deceased, were on holiday in Batumi. The tragedy occurred on Friday early in the morning. On the eve, the girls started their trip along the mountain Adzharia, on the way back, they got into an accident.

– It was not a clash, the car got into a ditch, – Aleh Harokhavik, consular advisor to the Belarusian embassy in Georgia, says. – A citizen of Georgia was at the wheel. One girl died. Two other girls were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Now there is no threat to their health, and they are in the hotel, waiting for the relevant documents to be drawn up to take the body of the deceased back home.

The girl's parents know about the tragedy. It is not yet known, when the girl's body is delivered to Belarus. The tourist did not have insurance, so the cash question arose.

– Now relatives have to collect about 2000 dollars to pay for all the necessary procedures, – Aleh Harokhavik continues. – We keep things under control. In the near future the situation will be resolved, and the body will be delivered to Belarus.
