The EC will coordinate sanctions against Lukashenko's regime.

In the context of sanctions, the European Commission plans to focus more attention on Minsk to prevent it from serving as a loophole for Russian trade, stated EC President Ursula von der Leyen on June 9, while presenting the EU’s 21st sanctions package against Russia.

- We are proposing significant restrictions on imports of certain types of fish products and a complete ban on others, including cod. And we will coordinate trade restrictions against Belarus, — von der Leyen emphasized.

The new package of sanctions against Russia will focus on sectors that will have the greatest impact: energy, financial services and cryptocurrencies, and trade—including fisheries.

- Former Russian combatants are banned from entering the EU, the statement said.

According to von der Leyen, the goal of the new package of restrictions is crystal clear:

- We want to maintain the full intensity of our sanctions. And the way to do this is to ensure that Russia’s profits from oil sales remain under control.

The European Commission’s proposals are to be submitted to the Council of the European Union for consideration.
