An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 occurred in the waters of the Sea of Azov near the Russian-occupied Ukrainian Crimea. This was reported in the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.
According to seismologists, the origin of the tremors was at a depth of about 10 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was located about 78 km from Kerch and 35 km from the town of Shchelkino. Information about possible destructions or victims was not received.
The day before in the south-western part of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the Kingdom of Tonga recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8. According to EMSC, the tremors occurred at 20:59 (23:59 Moscow time) 112 kilometers northeast of the capital Nuku'alofa, where about 22.4 thousand people live. The origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 12 kilometers.
