He has managed to establish himself well.
France provides Ukraine with old fishing nets. They turned out to be a very good tool to protect highways from Russian drones. This is according to The Guardian.
The publication notes that in fishing ports in Brittany (a region in northwestern France) there have always been a lot of discarded fishing nets lying around. The nets usually last no more than two years, after which they are simply discarded. In some places, this is a problem, because the coast is simply covered with them.
But the nets that were once used to catch fish can be used to catch Russian drones in Ukraine. Thus, the French charity organization Kernic Solidarités sent two batches of nets with a total length of 280 km to Ukraine. These nets are used to build tunnels along roads in front-line areas. Russian drones get stuck in these nets like flies get stuck in a spider's web.
"There is no shortage of fishing nets in this region. The problem is what to do with them, as several companies that recycle them have closed down. If they need them to build walls against drones and save lives in Ukraine, they can have them. When we learned that Ukraine needed nets, the fishing community was quick to respond," said the charity's president Gérard Le Duff.
Another spokesman for the Christian Abaziyou organization says they do not have the funds to send more nets to Ukraine, but are now trying to arrange for Ukraine to send trucks to France to pick up the nets themselves.
"We will help get the nets and load them, but we don't have the budget to keep organizing convoys ourselves," he said.
