What's the reason?
The Central Station in Warsaw has been temporarily closed. Passengers are warned about route changes and possible delays, reports PAP.
From November 8 to 16, trains will not stop at Warsaw Central Station due to work on the tracks. However, shopping areas, surface and underground overpasses will be available. Tickets will also be accepted between carriers during these days.
The walls and stone floors of the platform concourse will be repaired during this time, as well as lighting repairs and upgrades in the main hall, waiting room and underpasses. The entire area will also be thoroughly cleaned.
During this time, long-distance trains will stop at Warszawa Zachodnia and Warszawa Wschodnia stations, and some trains will be temporarily diverted to Warszawa Gdańska and Warszawa Główna stations.
Regional and suburban trains will continue to run as usual on the so-called intercity line, the route connecting Warsaw West and Warsaw East, with stops at Warszawa Ochota, Warszawa Sredmieście, Warszawa Powiśle and Warszawa Stadion. In addition, selected PKP Intercity trains will also stop at Warszawa Śródmieście station.
Passengers wishing to travel from Warsaw-Gdansk to the city center should use the additional streetcar line 77.
Trains will run between Ratuszowa-ZOO and PKP Służewiec, via Aleja Niepodległości and Aleja Jana Pawla II, connecting Central Station and Warsaw-Gdansk.
The M1 metro line and streetcar line 15 will also provide connections to the city center.
