Hollywood actress and UN Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie visited Mykolaiv and Kherson together with the international charity organization Legacy Of War Foundation.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the organization's Instagram page.
This is the first press release about the actress' visit since a number of media outlets reported yesterday on Jolie's visit to southern Ukraine.
The Hollywood actress, photo model, and director spoke with local medics, families, and volunteers who continue their daily lives under the constant threat of shelling and mines.
Jolie saw protective netting being stretched over roads in some neighborhoods to at least keep people safe from drone attacks.
"In response to the constant danger, medical care and education have been moved to fortified underground facilities so that treatment and education can continue in a relatively safe environment," the press release said.
The actress spent time observing this work - a reminder of the cost of war and the resilience of those who continue to endure it.
"The residents of Nikolaev and Kherson live in danger every day, but they do not give up. At a time when governments around the world are turning their backs on protecting civilians. Their strength and support for each other is astounding..... The exhaustion is visible to the naked eye, but so is the determination. People want security, peace and the opportunity to rebuild their lives," the organization quotes Jolie's words.

It is not the first visit of a Hollywood star to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. Back in April 2022, Jolie traveled to Lviv region, where on her own initiative she met with children, volunteers and Ukrainians affected by the war.
She visited one of the hospitals where the wounded were treated after the missile attack on the station in Kramatorsk, as well as communicated with internally displaced persons - in particular, with the passengers of the evacuation train from Pokrovsk.
