ISW: The AFU Advanced In The Pokrovsk Direction

American analysts recorded the success of Ukrainian troops.

Ukrainian forces have achieved tactical successes in the area of Dobropillya in the Pokrovsky direction in Donetsk region. However, the Russians are advancing near the city itself.

This is according to a fresh report by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW). Analysts cite geolocation videos that show the AFU has advanced northeast and southeast of Shakhovo, that is, east of Dobropillya. Ukrainian units are also holding positions east of Shakhovo, in an area where Russian sources have previously claimed the presence of their troops.

At the same time, ISW notes that Russian forces are making some localized gains in the Pokrovsk area. Videos published on November 5 show the occupiers advancing in the western part of Rodinskoye, north of Pokrovsk. Russian military bloggers also claim advances in the northeastern part of Pokrovsk, as well as near Grishino and Sukhetskoye.
