Tuapse Refinery Halts Oil Refining After UAV Attack On Port

All tankers have been pulled away from their berths.

Rosneft's Tuapse refinery was forced to suspend oil refining from November 3 following an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attack on the port of Tuapse a day earlier, two industry sources reported and LSEG data showed.

On November 2, the Krasnodar region's operative headquarters informed that infrastructure and buildings of the oil terminal in the port of Tuapse, as well as two foreign civilian vessels were damaged as a result of the UAV debris fall.

According to LSEG data, three tankers for loading naphtha, diesel fuel with 0.7% sulfur content and fuel oil were under loading at the Tuapse port terminals at the time of the attack.

As of November 5, all tankers were withdrawn from the berths and moored near the port, ship tracking data showed.

Market participants said that after the tankers are withdrawn from the berths, the seaport terminals will be inspected and the damage will be assessed.

The head of the Tuapse municipal district Sergei Boiko wrote in his Telegram channel that employees of the Tuapse seaport conducted a survey of the water area, no oil slicks were found.

Rosneft and Rosmorport did not provide comments promptly.
