Because of the closed border with Lithuania.
Following Lithuania's closure of the land border with Belarus, the Israeli Foreign Ministry urged its citizens planning to travel to our country to consider the necessity of such a trip or to consider other road options.
The Foreign Ministry recalled that "after recent incidents on the land border" Lithuania closed the border to passenger traffic.
"In this regard, the Foreign Ministry recommends Israeli citizens planning to travel to Belarus by land to consider the necessity of travel at this time or to consider the possibility of arriving in the country by air. Citizens of Israel, who are in Belarus and want to return to Israel, can fly from Minsk to other destinations and from there continue their journey to Israel," recalled in the Foreign Ministry.
We recall that all checkpoints on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border will be closed for a month - such a decision was taken at a meeting of the government of the Baltic country on October 29 in connection with the mass flights of weather probes with smuggled cigarettes from Belarus. It is possible to extend the restrictions after November 30.
