A Russian FAB-1500 Ricocheted Over A Residential Area And Exploded Elsewhere

A one-and-a-half-ton Russian bomb ricocheted off the ground, flew away and exploded elsewhere, ASTRA reported.

The footage, taken from a drone, was published by Z-channels. It is claimed that the video shows a Russian FAB-1500 corrected aerial bomb with a UMPK complex. In the video, the bomb falls near residential buildings, ricochets, flies over a residential area and explodes elsewhere.

The ASTRA editorial board previously learned of at least 127 bombs (120 FABs and 7 UMPKs) and three missiles that have fallen from Russian aircraft in Russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine since the beginning of 2025. In 2024, a minimum of 165 FAB bombs fell on these territories.

To counter Ukrainian air defenses, the Russian army began equipping Soviet FAB bombs with UMPK complexes. After this upgrade, the FABs are fitted with wings and satellite guidance, allowing the bombs to be launched directly from Russian territory. But due to the imperfections of the system, the bombs do not always reach their targets and fall on Russian territory. The Russian authorities are trying to conceal such facts, and when civilians are among the victims of Russian bombs falling, they say that the reasons are AFU attacks.
