Ukraine And Russian Federation To Resume Prisoner Exchange

Umerov revealed the details.

Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov announced that Ukraine and the Russian Federation will start a prisoner exchange again. Now the Ukrainian state is expected to release 1,200 Ukrainians from Russian captivity.

"On the instructions of the Ukrainian president, the other day held consultations mediated by partners in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates to restore the process of exchanges and the release of our people from Russian captivity," Umerov wrote.

He said, based on the results of these talks, the parties agreed to activate the Istanbul agreements. Already in the near future will be held technical consultations.

"We are talking about the release of 1,200 Ukrainians. Technical consultations will be held in the near future. They should consolidate all procedural and organizational aspects," the NSDC Secretary added.

Umerov also noted that the work is taking place without pauses, "so that the Ukrainians who are to return from captivity, met the New Year and Christmas holidays at home - at the family table and next to their relatives."
