Russia has banned the passage of electric cars across the Crimean bridge. As explained by the representative of the Navy of the AFU Dmitry Pletenchuk, this is due to security measures.

In the air "Espreso" Pletenchuk noted that now the Crimean bridge for Russians has more symbolic than practical significance. At the same time, although in general Russians can drive over it into Crimea, but the passage of electric cars is prohibited.

"The main reason for this decision is fear. After all, they are afraid that a large amount of explosives can be hidden in the batteries of an electric car. The battery itself is heavy and large, and therefore it is difficult to find explosives in them," he explained.

Pletenchuk noted that there are rumors that trucks, trains with fuel and heavy weapons are also no longer allowed through the Crimean Bridge.

"This is a complex hydraulic structure and it really has a high coefficient of strength, and it is difficult to destroy it by direct damage. And it is illogical to use scarce ammunition that can be used much more effectively," he added.
