Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has once again found himself at the center of a scandal after he provoked a massive student protest during a meeting with high school students in Poprad, Dennik reports.
Angered by the students' reaction, he said that those who support war "can go fight in Ukraine." These words came against the backdrop of a discussion of EU financial support for Kiev, when Fitzo spoke out against the allocation of 140 billion euros to Kiev, which immediately caused discontent among young people.
When the noise in the hall rose, Fitzo did not hold back and addressed a group of kids in black T-shirts who expressed disagreement with the prime minister's position. He tried to stop the noise, but the schoolchildren continued to jingle their keys - a way of expressing disagreement.
His call of "jingle, jingle, jingle" was answered even louder by the high school students, after which they left the room in an organized manner. One of the students defiantly carried the flag of Ukraine.
This is not the first incident. In early November, the prime minister's speech at another school in Poprad was also met with protests: students painted a heart in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, after which one of them was even questioned by the police. Then the meeting was postponed, and Fico promised to coordinate future lectures with the administration of educational institutions.
