The ownership of Lithuanian companies is still held hostage by the regime.
A negative response to the request to open evacuation corridors at the border came from Belarus on November 12, said advisor to Lithuanian Prime Minister Ignas Algirdas Dobrovolskas. According to him, the trucks of Lithuanian companies are still held hostage and cannot return to the country, reports Delfi.
"Today we received a response from the Belarusian border guards to the Lithuanian letter. The consent to open an evacuation corridor for Lithuanian and European carriers has not been received, our companies are still held hostage," said Dobrovolskas.
"Lithuania has repeatedly noted that our borders are open to our and European carriers, and only Belarus, which cannot cope with smuggled balloons that pose a danger to our civil aviation, is creating escalation and aggravating obstacles to departure," he continued.
An advisor to the Lithuanian prime minister said that the Belarusian document will be considered. According to him, at this stage, decisions should be made primarily by the neighboring state.
"In any case, the Belarusian document will be considered, but first of all, as we constantly emphasize, Belarus should stop the hybrid attack against aviation and the safety of our citizens," said Dobrovolskas.
He said that Vilnius cares about the safety of Lithuanian and European companies, but "decisions should be made primarily by the Belarusian side."
