Lukashenko Threatens To Confiscate Lithuanian Trucks

The dictator goes for blackmail.

Lukashenko wants to confiscate Lithuanian trucks, stuck in Belarus after the border closure. This was reported by Telegram-channel close to his press service today, November 10.

At the meeting, the head of the State Border Committee reported to Lukashenko that Lithuania would like to defuse the situation.

- To which I replied: if Lithuania wants - the ball is on its side. Please open the border, we'll work and cooperate, as it has been so far," said the ruler.

Lukashenko instructed to collect all Lithuanian cars at the crossing points and take them under guard.

- Those who guard them, asked, I think, 120 euros per day. They paid for the guards. How many days they will stand there - multiply by 120 euros - pay, take the cars with the cargo.

If this is not done in the next few days, we will take a decision, as the Foreign Ministry said, in accordance with our laws. Up to and including impounding these vehicles. They can't hang around on the roads - 1,100 or 1,200 huge vans that were parked somewhere out there on the road," Lukashenko said.

The website Charter97.org wrote earlier that Lithuanian authorities, without waiting for a positive decision from Minsk on the trucks detained on the other side of the border, are ready to up the ante in an exchange of blows. Vilnius is considering the possibility of a complete blockade of railroad communication from the territory of Belarus.
