For the sixth time.
U.S. senators for the sixth time failed to vote for the bill to actually end the government shutdown. The broadcast of the U.S. Senate session was conducted by the C-Span TV channel.
It is noted that the document to continue funding the government was supported by 54 senators, while 45 were against its adoption. To pass the bill, 60 votes are needed.
October 1 in the U.S. government work was suspended, as the Senate did not agree on the draft budget. The reason was disagreement between Democrats and Republicans on health care funding. Thus, a shutdown began in the United States - the 22nd in the country's history and the 4th under President Donald Trump.
