They fly over secret factories.

European arms manufacturer Thales Belgium has reported a growing number of drones spotted over its secret factories. Company executives are demanding clear rules from authorities allowing them to shoot down or jam such drones to protect production, writes Politico (translated by Charter97.org).

"We are seeing more and more drones compared to previous months," said director Alain Kevrin. He noted that drones have been spotted repeatedly over a facility in Liège, Belgium's only factory authorized to assemble and store explosives for 70-millimeter rockets.

Threats have also been recorded in other European countries - Poland, Romania, Germany, Norway and Denmark. Some of the drones turned out to be Russian, the origin of others could not be established. In response, Danish authorities have temporarily banned drone flights, and NATO has launched the Eastern Sentry program to strengthen air defense on its eastern borders.

The company has already installed drone detection systems, but the use of signal jammers remains prohibited. "We can't use them - it's illegal. It is necessary to clearly define where the police responsibility zone ends and the company's responsibility zone begins," Kevrin emphasized.

At the same time, the concern records "incredible demand" for its products. The bulk of Thales missiles are now supplied to Ukraine. The missiles produced in Herstal and Liège are capable of hitting both large drones and swarms of small drones.

To meet the growing demand, Kevrin called on the European Union to create a coordinating body for joint defense projects, noting that the European defense industry needs a unified procurement and regulatory policy.
