Hamas denies readiness to lay down its arms. The Palestinian terrorist group called media reports about it fabricated. Their statement is quoted by Turkish TV channel TRT. Earlier, Al Hadath wrote, citing sources, that the militants had notified the US that they were ready to transfer the weapons to a Palestinian-Egyptian body under international supervision.

The TV channel's interlocutors also claimed that ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip would be fast, as Hamas is interested in the speedy implementation of the US president's plan.

The Donald Trump himself, meanwhile, said there had been "very positive" contacts with Hamas and representatives of other countries over the weekend. They discussed the release of Israeli hostages, stopping the fighting and long-term peace in the Middle East. The delegations will meet again today.
