The order calls for operations to be reduced to "minimums."
The Israel Defense Forces have been ordered to halt the offensive on Gaza City. This came after US President Donald Trump made such a demand.
It was reported by The Times of Israel.
Israeli political leaders have reportedly ordered the military to halt its campaign to seize Gaza City.
Army Radio and public broadcaster Kan said the move came after US President Donald Trump called on Israel to stop strikes on Gaza, insisting on an end to the war and the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Army Radio reported that the order calls for operations to be reduced to "minimums," with troops on the ground to strictly conduct defensive maneuvers, and was issued after overnight talks between Israeli and U.S. officials.
In the meantime, Kan says talks on Trump's plan are expected to take place soon.
Trump's Peace Plan
Reminder that yesterday, October 3, US President Donald Trump said he is giving Hamas militants one last chance to respond to his peace plan for the Gaza Strip.
He noted that he expects a response by 6 p.m. on October 5. Moreover, the American leader promised that if Hamas refuses to implement his plan, "hell will break loose" on the militants.
