U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth revealed the destruction by the U.S. military of yet another vessel allegedly used by drug traffickers in the Caribbean. Six people died, Bloomberg reports.
In particular, Hegseth said U.S. intelligence had discovered a boat linked to the Tren de Aragua, which President Donald Trump has recognized as a foreign terrorist organization. He compared the drug cartels to al-Qaeda, saying they would be treated the same as terrorists.
Since early September, the U.S. has attacked several boats in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific.
Overnight, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Tren de Aragua (TdA), a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) trafficking narcotics in the Caribbean Sea.
