Economist: Lukashenko Sees That The Bubble Is About To Burst

The ruler is caught in a zugzwang.

The day before Lukashenko went on an uncharacteristic tirade in connection with with the provision of social assistance.

The young people, who "can't earn" and require the creation of some special conditions, and families with children, who allegedly don't want to solve their problems on their own, were also criticized.

The ruler also named the main reasons why he is forced to deny assistance to these categories of citizens.

Economist Alisa Ryzhichenko disagrees with the reasons mentioned and is sure that it's all about the desperate situation Lukashenko finds himself in. She told "Filin" how the ruler got into a zugzwang:

- We have indeed recently seen many things that are atypical for Lukashenko's usual policy, heard atypical statements.

It's all about the fact that he has finally really realized the problems the country is facing. Namely, economic isolation, Russia's inability to further support the regime, both financially and politically.

The day before, railroad workers turned to him for help, before that someone else, they are constantly coming to him and asking him: give money, give subsidies, interest-free or irrevocable, give a cheap loan.

And this is growing like a bubble. From 2019 we see the money supply more than doubling. The number of bonds of state bodies and their estimated value in the assets of the National Bank have increased more than 10 times.

This means that the National Bank is simply printing money, giving it to state bodies in exchange for bonds. But we have already seen all this in 2011 and remember what it led to.

Therefore, even now there are huge risks of high price growth, devaluation, in general, that the economy will no longer be able to cope.

The peculiarity of the current situation is that the problems are on all fronts. If before there could be a problem somewhere, but it was covered at the expense of other industries, now there are problems everywhere.

Lukashenko sees it, understands it, he is reminded about it from all sides, warned that this bubble is about to burst, hence the hysterics.
