Trump Canceled His Meeting With Putin

The U.S. president has issued a policy statement on the head of Russian Federation.

US President Donald Trump has canceled a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. On sanctions against Russia, he added that "the time has come that has been long awaited."

Trump announced this while speaking to reporters at the White House.

"I canceled my meeting with Putin. It didn't seem right. It didn't seem to me like we were going to get to where we should get to, so I canceled it," Trump said.

The US president said he would meet with the Russian dictator in the future. But gave no additional details.

"Every time I have good conversations with Putin, and then they don't lead anywhere," Trump said.

Trump also once again emphasized that he hopes Zelensky and Putin are reasonable.

"You know what they say, it takes two to tango. And we'll figure it out," he said.

Trump also spoke out about sanctions against Russia.

"I felt the time was right, we've been waiting a long time," he said.
