The AFU Repulsed The Russians In The Dobropillya Direction

Ukrainian soldiers continue the counter-offensive operation.

According to the DeepState project, the Ukrainian armed forces have conducted another successful operation in the Dobropillya direction. During the fighting, the village of Novoye Shakhovo in Donetsk Region was completely cleared. In addition, Ukrainian units have pushed the Russian military out of positions in the areas of Nikanorovka and Golden Well, reports "Dialogue".

The situation on the map shows that the liberation of Novoye Shakhovo allows Ukrainian troops to "press" the Russian forces from two sides - from Nikanorovka and from the side of Golden Well. This configuration of the front makes the Russian grouping near Suvoy and Poltavka vulnerable: any advance of the AFU to the northeast can create a "pocket" in which the enemy will be under a new threat of encirclement. This increases pressure on Russian units and forces them to move reserves, weakening neighboring sections of the front.

Russia's momentum

Although in the neighboring Novopavlovsk direction, Russian troops have managed to advance near Poltavka and Novoivanovka in Zaporizhzhya region, the overall dynamics are not in Moscow's favor. In September, the Russians captured about 259 square kilometers of Ukrainian land - almost 44% less than in August. This indicates serious problems with the enemy's resources and logistics.

Importance for the front

The Dobropillya area is becoming a symbol that the Ukrainian army is able not only to hold the lines, but also to conduct active combat operations, gradually pushing back the enemy. Such localized successes undermine Russia's plans and strengthen the moral advantage of the AFU.
