Ukrainian Woman Who Lived With Shrapnel In Her Body From World War II Killed By Russian Missile

The enemy used Iskander-M type missiles to strike Balakleya.

An RF missile has claimed the life of a woman who was first wounded back in 1941. Alla Nikolaevna went through World War II, but did not survive Russian aggression.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.

Yesterday, October 1, at about 19:05, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a missile strike on the town of Balakleya, Kharkiv region. The missile hit the courtyard of an apartment building, also damaging:

café,

pharmacy,

stores,

administrative building,

automobiles.

An 88-year-old woman, Alla Nikolaevna, was killed in the attack. Ten people were injured, among them a girl born in 2021, who was diagnosed with an acute reaction to stress.

It is preliminary determined that the enemy used a missile of the Iskander-M type.

The tragedy is particularly noteworthy because of the history of the deceased. Alla Nikolaevna was first wounded as a child, during World War II, in 1941, when she was only 4 years old. She survived, grew up and lived with the memory of those terrible years and carried a shard in her back from the past war.

"The current war Alla Nikolaevna could not survive. Today her life was taken by Russia. She went through World War II to see an independent and peaceful Ukraine. But she did not live to see victory and peace in her native land," the prosecutor's office said.
