Axios: Zelensky Was Surprised By Trump's Conversation With Putin

US President Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin yesterday, after which he announced a meeting with him in Hungary. However, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky was surprised by this.

According to the publication, Zelensky, who arrived in Washington on Thursday afternoon, has been quite optimistic in recent days about his planned meeting with Trump, as well as his willingness to supply Ukraine with long-range Tomahawk missiles.

Shortly after Zelensky landed at Andrews Air Force Base, however, "the Ukrainian president and his team were surprised to see Trump's announcement that he had spoken with Putin and agreed to meet with him in Hungary."

Axios noted that Hungary is the least Ukraine-friendly country in the EU.

Remember, on October 16, Trump talked to Putin and announced that a summit would be held between them again. This time it will be held in Hungary and will be within the next two weeks. The key topic is the possibility of ending the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine.
