Trump: Russia's Economy Is Close To Collapse

The U.S. president reiterated his disappointment with Putin.

US President Donald Trump believes the Russian economy is "about to collapse". He added that Vladimir Putin was supposed to "win in one week, but now he's entering his fourth year" of fighting.

"I'm very disappointed because Vladimir and I had a very good relationship, and it probably remains that way to this day. I don't understand why he continues this war," Donald Trump told reporters (quoted by The New York Times).

Trump also confirmed that he will meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky before the end of the week. He said the latter wants to ask for U.S. Tomahawk cruise missiles for Ukraine. "We have a lot of Tomahawk missiles," the US president added.
