For the second time in 24 hours, the U.S. president publicly admired Italy's prime minister.
US President Donald Trump has dedicated a post on Truth Social to Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni's book.
The politician's memoir is called I Am Georgia: My Roots, My Principles. The book came out back in the summer and is on sale in online stores. The foreword to it was written by the president's son, Donald Trump Jr.. The description says the author first spoke about the personal - the pain of missing his father, as well as the story of a partnership with Italian TV host Andrea Giambruno that ended in a breakup.
The White House chief of staff admiringly called the Italian head of government "a source of inspiration for everyone."
"Georgia is doing incredible work for the wonderful people of Italy, and this book tells of her journey of faith, family and love of country that has given her the wisdom and courage she needs to serve her nation and make her people proud of her," Trump wrote, urging people to buy the publication.
Trump's post came just hours after he showered her with compliments at a peace summit on the Gaza Strip. As Bloomberg notes, Meloni was the only female politician at that summit. Trump called her beautiful several times, noting that he was "taking a risk."
"We have a woman, a young woman - although I'm not allowed to say that because usually political careers are over after saying that. She's a beautiful young woman. Now if you call a woman beautiful in the United States, it's the end of your political career. But I'll take my chances. You don't mind being called beautiful, do you? You're really beautiful," Trump said.
