From today, October 1, the procedure for calculating the payment for housing and utility services for citizens, not employed in the economy, is changing. The so-called "deadbeats" will have to pay the full cost of the apartment, which they own, writes the site "Belarusians and the market".

Previously, the payment for housing and communal services for the premises, owned by Belarusians, not employed in the economy, depended on the registration of such a person and how many people live on square meters.

If, for example, two more people lived together with him on 60 square meters, then the "slacker" paid an increased price for heat supply in proportion to the number of residents - for 20 square meters. meters. The remaining 40 "squares" were counted at subsidized rates.

From October 1, 2025, payment for housing and utility services to citizens not employed in the economy, who own an apartment, will be counted for its entire area. If there are several residential premises on it, the payment at increased rates will be charged for these areas at increased rates as well.
