Naftan Workshops Stopped At Navapolatsk TPP

There was a short circuit.

On September 27, a short circuit occurred at the Navapolatsk TPP, due to a power surge, equipment stopped in the Naftan workshops. The commission is investigating the cause of the incident, and repairs are being carried out at the TPP, according to a report from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The emergency situation happened on the morning of Tuesday, September 27th. At 9.50, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a short circuit in the cable tunnel under the building of the main switchgear on the territory of the Navapolatsk TPP branch of RUE Vitebskenergo.

The automatic fire-extinguishing system was triggered, and due to a short-term power surge, an unscheduled equipment shutdown occurred in the Naftan workshops.

There were no casualties as a result of the incident. The personnel restarted the equipment, the technological process at the Polymir plant is not disturbed, and no losses in production are predicted.

The commission of the Navapolatsk TPP is establishing the causes of the incident, and the electrical personnel is carrying out repairs.
